Freedom

Unity Arts Collective

FREEDOM - A participatory visual arts Exhibition and performance by Unity Arts Collective.

Immerse yourself in a unique, participatory visual arts experience that combines movement, immersive sound, sculpture, visual arts and more. This exhibition boasts artwork co-created by a diverse group of contributors, from refugees and migrants to local artists, students and community members. Explore profound themes of hope, resilience, identity, transformation, freedom, life and death through a live performance that blurs the line between performer and audience.

Participate and interact with the exhibition materials to discover how our senses interpret the concept of freedom. The result? An unforgettable journey that resonates from different energy centers, creating harmony and connection. Dive into this otherworldly artistic venture, proudly supported by Arts Council England.

The work-in-progress performance is focused on finding the truthfulness between life and death, exploring freedom through inner life, and how the senses of the human works through the concept of freedom. Performer interacts with atmosphere and exhibition materials such as puppets, sculptures, sound, human bodies, soil, sand, and research material.

What our audience have been saying -
- “The sound, the movement was truly beautiful. I would love to see this exhibition in a larger setting.”
- “The part of the performance on interaction between Surya and the soil, on the relationship. It triggers reflection between humans and soil, root of life.”
- “This remind me of the mental health impact on refugees. We all just want to feel safe. We deserve safety, freedom and home.”
- “It reminds you of the reality of displaced people. Globally we see ICE, Reform UK marches rise and attack immigrants.”
