Disconnect / Reconnect. Welcome to the Digital Dating Jungle.
Present day East London: meet Elle and Elle’s Mind. Elle is feature writer in her late 20’s, dissatisfied with her messy house-share, creepy boss and somewhat tragic love life. What starts as a quest for fun and validation on dating apps spirals into an obsessive entanglement of hilarious, curious, and sometimes dangerous encounters.
As much as Mind tries to redirect Elle toward healthier choices, the relationship between the two continues to fracture as insecurities and self-loathing take a hold. Elle’s best friend is far too perfect to possibly understand, the deadlines are piling up, and so the spiral begins.
“Swipe” showcases sharp wit, original music, and a hilarious and versatile male ensemble who embody a spectrum of romantic interests from the charming to the downright insane. This gritty, modern exploration of love, lust and self-validation is a rollercoaster of emotion, comedy, and a silly overuse of emojis, offering a raw and unfiltered glimpse into the trials and tribulations of womanhood in the digital age.
