Gannet

Fat Crow Productions

Rosemary Branch Theatre

With a 6ft wingspan, razor-sharp vision, and incredible diving abilities, Gannets really are birds at the top of their game. But how would they fare in the human world?

When a chick hatches to find his mother is nowhere to be seen, he embarks on a treacherous journey to find her. But after a gruesome flying accident, Gannet is launched headfirst into the chaos and confusion of the human world. At first, Gannet is hopeful—perhaps these colourful characters might help him find his mummy! But Gannet will soon learn that these humans are not his friends. From creepy taxidermists to horny baristas, foul-mouthed teaching assistants to bickering pigeons- this part-clown, part-sketch comedy is the grotesque brainchild of writers Daisy Day and Peggy Pollard.

The two first started working together in Bristol, where Daisy designed the set for Peggy’s play The Ponds, which was received with rave reviews. Gannet is Fat Crow Productions’ Camden Fringe debut. Its artfully constructed costume is designed by artists (and fellow clowns) Cailin Cummins and Sally Plowman.
