Mustafa Algiyadi: Your Finest Second Cheapest Wine Please (WIP)
Mustafa Algiyadi
Mustafa takes the audience through an exploration of modern life: the rules we invent, the lies we tell ourselves, the opinions we pretend to have and why everyone seems slightly irritating.
From growing up in Libya to navigating Europe, from second-cheapest wine to identity politics, from body shame to social hypocrisy, this is comedy about belonging, status, desire, resentment and trying to seem like a decent person while quietly losing your mind.
Expect crowd work, new material, risky ideas, overthinking and jokes that may never be heard again for very good reasons.
Come help shape the next show.
WIP = Work in Progress. Some ideas are unfinished. Some are too finished. Some should have stayed in Notes.
Mustafa is so darn good because:
• Tour support for Reggie Watts and Todd Barry
• Featured in “Top Jokes of the Edinburgh Fringe 2024” by The Times and Edinburgh Evening News
• Featured in The Guardian, Sunday Post, The Scotsman, and The List UK
Critical Reviews:
• “The funniest thing in the world.” – Broadway Baby
• “Comedic prowess.” – The Voice UK
• “Breath of fresh air.” – The Play’s The Thing UK
• “Huge presence.” – Phoenix Remix
• “Finest traditions of compering.” – Chortle
