MONSIEUR MU MIME

Cornucopia Theatre Company

'Monsieur Mu' is inspired by the great mime artist, Marcel Marceau. Performed by Mark Duncan.
‘Mû’ in French means driven by passion, ‘mû par la passion’! The word ‘Mu’ in Zen Buddhism means ‘no-thing’ or ‘emptiness’, a transcendence of the dualities of life. Monsieur Mu helps rise above the ‘merde’ of life through laughter and ridiculousness. This is mime with a difference!
Monsieur Mu – A collection of solo mimes.
The 'Monsieur Mu' performance is divided into four different acts:
'Olympique', 'Maitre D',' 'Le Conducteur' and ‘Tropical’.
*'Olympique' - celebrating the modern Olympics and the 1948 London Games. The BBC follows Monsieur Mu’s Olympic torch journey from Greece to London.
*'Maitre D' - Monsieur Mu cooks aphrodisiac pizzas and makes cocktails that might turn you into a werewolf, if you dare drink them!*
'Le Conducteur' – Maestro Mu conducts ‘The Barber of Seville Overture’, fighting with pets, car crashes, noisy people and low-flying aircraft... 8
‘Tropical’ – to escape the routine of office life, Monsieur Mu goes on holiday in Brazil, where he experiences beautiful nature, big cities, carnival, and tropical illness. But even in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, he can’t escape modern technology.
