Ghar Ghar

Annum Salman

Sometimes it takes the leaving and the coming back to get a South Asian family to talk about the hard stuff.

Maya is going to Pakistan after 4 years. A lot has changed. But it's her sister's wedding and she needs to be there. However, she's packed a suitcase full of unresolved trauma and is not prepared for the new insecurities she'll need to unpack at home. Will Maya be able to navigate through her trauma and get her family to recognise her pain? Can Sanam, the bride-to-be, resolve her own issues amidst the wedding chaos? Will the brother finally see all that he has been missing and will their traditional parents come to see their mistakes? So many questions- 60 minutes to answer.

Ghar Ghar is an engaging exploration of conflict, confrontation, and familial bonds, all laced with humour and deep emotion. Set against the vibrant backdrop of a lively wedding, the play delves into the chaotic, warm, and often challenging dynamics of South Asian family life.
