“Comedy 1900” explores the wonderful world of Victorian Music Hall to discover what made our ancestors laugh. Using a lively blend of words and hit songs from the period, the show will lift the lid on early 20th century comedy and show how satirical songs gave a much-needed voice to ordinary working people.


The show is brought to you by The Good Companions, a collective of actors, singers and historians who are dedicated to preserving Music Hall songs for future generations to enjoy. They will be performing at the Museum of Comedy, the guardian of treasures from the golden age of Music Hall, many of which are on display.
