Scaleno
la Nuda Compagnia
A woman onstage. One body. Three voices that refuse to agree.
SCALENO – One Body, Three Voices is a bilingual solo performance exploring identity, language, and the difficulty of staying present. Performed in Italian, raw Neapolitan dialect, and English, the piece unfolds as an internal confrontation between a neutral self, a biting alter ego shaped by origin and class, and an artificial intelligence speaking British English through an onstage smart speaker.
Language is not explained or softened. It collides. Surtitles are used selectively, allowing meaning to emerge without erasing difference.
Structured around breath, geometry, and everyday rituals, SCALENO moves through themes of migration, queer desire, shame, and the pressure to conform. There is no healing arc, no neat resolution. Just coexistence inside a body that does not adapt.
An intimate, low-tech, high-intensity performance for audiences willing to listen.
