Things to Say When I See You in Person
Nayib Jean Baptiste

After a successful tryout at the 2024 Act 2 Springboard Festival (⭑⭑⭑⭑Everything Theatre), Things to Say When I See You in Person is back as a 60-minute full version, to be premiered at The Water Rats from 18-20 August.
It’s 2003. Late nights, pixelated video calls, faxing nudes- this is what Faith, an eclectic artist, has to do for the next six months in London since Roman, her boyfriend of three years, seized the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of joining Doctors Without Borders in Africa. Despite their anxieties. Faith and Roman believe they would survive anything together. But distance doesn’t make the heart grow fonder. As new friendships form and old insecurities surface, they find themselves holding back when they both have so much to say. With six months stretching endlessly ahead, Faith and Roman must confront the question neither wants to ask: Is love enough to survive distance?
Written by Nayib Jean Baptiste and directed by Valerie Mo, Things to Say When I See You in Person is a sharp, tender and unexpectedly funny two-hander that explores the fragility of love across distance.
