The Head
DATOU Theatre

"WOMAN walks into the bathroom. She uses the toilet and closes the lid then flushes it. She walks away to wash her hands but decides to double-check again. At this moment, HEAD suddenly pops out and hits the toilet lid."
"Even I might not be born in the same way as this child, but I too, am your, my mom’s, creation."
Our performance is a puppet theatre adaptation of The Head from Bora Chung’s acclaimed book Cursed Bunny. This visually striking production unfolds a surreal allegory-like story, it follows a woman confronted by a grotesque, sentient head emerging from her toilet, calling her “Mother.” exploring the complex dynamics between mothers and daughters, inherited trauma, and identity erasure.
