Comedian Lucy Pook (West End New Act of the Year finalist 2024/ Max Turner Comedy Virgins semi-finalist 2024), meanders through a narrative of historical and contemporary representation in art, film and social media to create a memento mori on the act of looking.
‘Pursed Lip’ touches on minimally important 'cultural' figures, superficial art theory, and feminist light content, in order to critique how we use image to explore identity. Straddling the fence between comedy and quite possibly, 'superfluous to requirement' performance Art, Pook has promised to throw in a few jokes along the way, as a kind of humour palette cleanser.
