Night Shift
Ellen Turner

What do you think about on the bus? Drowning? Is that normal? Someone, tell her it’s normal.
When Abigail gets on the N41 bus towards Tottenham Hale, she knows exactly what journey her life is about to take. London is a kaleidoscope of violence, misogyny and suffering and she has seen it all before. Night after night. Nothing changes. Nothing gets better. Nothing left to do but hop onboard and hurtle towards oblivion. That is, until an interruption forces Abigail to face what lies at the centre of this cycle and how far it will go to distort her reality.
Funny, right? It is. Promise. Although this is a fringe debut so we have no critics to back that up. Just laugh anyway. Or cry. Either’s fine.
A dark comedy written and performed by GSA graduate Ellen Turner and directed by Eric Gregory Award-winning Maisie Newman, partnered with Bristol-based mental health charity Many Minds. ‘Night Shift’ is a brand new production by a team of female and gender-queer artists with a track record of creating outrageous theatre.
